Ukraine's Kharkiv Struck by Numerous Russian Drones and Missiles; Prisoner Swap Talks Face Conflicting Claims 🇺🇦 🇷🇺 💥
Russia launched a massive drone and bomber attack on Ukraine's second-largest city, Kharkiv, killing at least four people and injuring nearly 60.
Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov reported that 48 drones, two missiles, and four glide bombs were used against the city on Friday night, with more glide bombs dropped on Saturday.
Moscow stated that these attacks were in response to "terrorist attacks by the Kyiv regime," specifically mentioning bomb attacks on railways in western Russia and Ukrainian drone strikes on air bases deep inside Russia.
Ukraine's security service SBU claimed at least 40 Russian aircraft were struck during "Operation Spider's Web" last Sunday, using 117 drones smuggled into Russia.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky asserted that the strikes on Kharkiv made "no military sense" and were "pure terrorism".
Conflicting accounts arose regarding a prisoner swap agreement, with Russia claiming Ukraine postponed it and Ukraine alleging Russia was not sticking to agreed parameters and submitted "alternative lists".
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha urged allies to increase pressure on Moscow and to take "more steps to strengthen Ukraine" in response to the latest attacks.

President Trump Orders National Guard Deployment to Los Angeles Amid Immigration Protests 🇺🇸 🪧
President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of 2,000 National Guard members to Los Angeles in response to ongoing immigration protests.
Trump's order federalizes a portion of California's National Guard, meaning they will report to the President instead of Governor Gavin Newsom.
This action follows continued clashes between federal immigration agents and demonstrators in Los Angeles, which have resulted in more than 100 arrests.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt stated that "violent mobs have attacked ICE Officers and Federal Law Enforcement Agents" during deportation operations.
California Governor Gavin Newsom condemned Trump's move as "purposefully inflammatory" and asserted that Los Angeles authorities have no unmet need for law enforcement assistance.
Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth additionally threatened to deploy U.S. Marines from Camp Pendleton if the violence continues, noting they are on "high alert".
Vice President JD Vance referred to the protestors as "insurrectionists" who are attacking immigration enforcement officers and carrying foreign flags.
A formal memo from the president stated that protests inhibiting the execution of laws "constitute a form of rebellion against the authority of the Government of the United States".

Beirut Suburbs Hit by Israeli Airstrikes Targeting Alleged Hezbollah Drone Facilities 🇮🇱 🇱🇧 💥
Israel launched at least three airstrikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs, specifically targeting what it described as underground Hezbollah drone factories and terror targets of the Hezbollah aerial unit.
The strikes occurred on the eve of the Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha, prompting Lebanese leaders to condemn them as a “flagrant” ceasefire violation.
Lebanon's President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam firmly condemned the Israeli aggression, highlighting its breach of an international accord and the 27 November ceasefire.
Shortly before the strikes, Israel's Arabic-language spokesperson had warned residents near Hezbollah facilities to evacuate immediately.
Israel stated that Hezbollah was operating to increase production of UAVs for a "next war," considering this a “blatant violation of the understandings” between the two entities.
Large numbers of people fled the area, causing traffic congestion, and plumes of smoke were seen billowing from the Lebanese capital after the explosions.
The November ceasefire aimed to end over a year of hostilities between Israel and Iran-backed Hezbollah, which began with the Gaza war and left Hezbollah severely weakened.
Under the truce, Hezbollah was to withdraw north of the Litani river and dismantle military posts, while Israel was to pull its troops from Lebanon, though Israel kept some strategic positions.
